Qing hua

Chinese Qing Hua (blue and white) porcelain is considered the most iconic type of glazes and decoration styles.

The distinctive color in blue-glazed pottery and porcelain came from cobalt ores imported from Persia, and and the traces of blue and white wares are found beginning in the Tang dynasty (618-906) but it was not until the Yuan dynasty (1279-1368) that this art started to reach perfection.

Blue-and-white wares are produced elsewhere in China, though objects originating from the kilns at Jingdezhen are thought to be the best quality.
